The biggest Muaythai event held in the USA will be held in Los Angeles on 8 September featuring three WBC MUAYTHAI world titles, three International titles and three USA national championships.
The event to be staged at the Normandie Casino includes a sensational showdown between the WBC Middleweight champion superstar Lamsongkram Chuwatana and top French contender Yohan Lidon.
WBC World Super Featherweight Champion Kaew Fairtex will defend his title against Yamamoto (Japan), and the undefeated WBC International Heavyweight Champion Ricardo Van de Boss (Holland) will fight the strong, young and determined US rising star Rocky Rosario for the world heavyweight title.
The top International contests include the Welterweight Championship between Brian Carlos (Mexico) and Edmond Tarverdyan (USA) and the Lightweight Championship match-up of former Thai champion Kaensak Soh against Fabio Pinca (France). In the Super Featherweight division the International title will be fought between Hiromasa Masuda (Japan) and Mustapha El Farosi (Holland)
Of the four USA national championships on the card, the Welterweight showdown between Michael Mananquil and RaKarma Young has attracted enormous interest as both fighters have huge followings and will meet for the first time in an official WBC championship contest.
Event promoter Dennis Warner said that the super championship card was the greatest gathering of Muaythai talent ever to be assembled in the USA.
The WBC world championships, with the main sponsor Singha Beer, will be broadcast of Pay Per View TV in the USA and televised live to Thailand.
WBC MUAYTHAI chairman Pol. Gen Kovid Bhakdibhumi said the historic event in LA was the culmination of three years progressive development of the WBC Muaythai on the world stage with world championships already being staged in eastern and western Europe, Australia and Asia.
The WBC has established worldwide Muaythai rankings in 19 weight divisions. The event in USA will establish the WBC MUAYTHAI as the leading stand-up martial in the USA and the world.
