Tuesday, November 17, 2020: This past weekend, teams from the WBC MuayThai in Russia and Thailand collaborated for a WBC MuayThai Youth Cares event to promote youth empowerment through the teachings of the sport and culture of MuayThai.

The event was held simultaneously at two locations, the WBC MuayThai head office in Bangkok and the Pancher MuayThai gym in Nizhny, Novgorod with the benefits of modern technology connecting both parties with proceedings gladly enjoyed by WBC MuayThai President, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi.

Moreover, there were over 50 young Russian MuayThai enthusiasts partake in the day's festivities with MuayThai superstars Yodwicha Yodwicha gym and Sittichai Sitsongpeenong leading a workshop — from Bangkok — on basic MuayThai techniques to the next generation in Russia, led by WBC MuayThai representative for Russia, Mr. Alexey Fursov.

WBC MuayThai Youth Cares ambassador Matthew Deane was the master of ceremonies with his usual elegant style leading from the front. Several influential figures from the sports governing bodies in Russia attended and spoke about the exponential growth of MuayThai in Russia. Also joining in the festivities was WBC boxing International Secretary, Oksana Semenishinaa.

The overall message and theme of the successful event were to highlight the value in being physically through sport and to show that MuayThai is a sport for the people, by the people, with its origins steeped in Thai history, with a clear message that the WBC MuayThai will continue to promote it around the world.
