PRAEWPAO PETCHYINDEE : THE LIGHT-FLYWEIGHT KING

12 Dec 2019

Thailand’s Praewpao Petchyindee made history at Bangkok’s Rajadamnern stadium on Thursday the 5th of December when he became the first fighter to become a joint champion of the WBC MuayThai and Rajadamnern stadium.

Going into the contest, Praewpao was the WBC MuayThai light-flyweight champion of the world, while his opponent, Sangfah Nor Anuwatgym, was the reigning light-flyweight champion of the famed Rajadamnern stadium.

The contest started as most expected as Praewpao brought early pressure to Sangfah, in order to get a favorable head start with the three ringside judges. That method worked a treat as Praewpao was dominant throughout the contest landing powerful combinations of all eight weapons.

When the bell rang to signify the end of the fifth and final round it was to be Praewpao’s night as his hand was raised in magnificent victory with all three judges scoring the contest 49-47 to the Petchyindee gym star.

On behalf of WBC MuayThai President, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, and the entire team at the WBC we would like to congratulate Praewpao and his team at Petchyindee for their night of WBC success.
