PETCH OUTSHINES RYUYA IN TOKYO TO TAKE HOME WBC GLORY

31 May 2019

Thailand’s Petchdet Wor Sungprapai is the new World Boxing Council MuayThai minimum-weight champion of the world.

The classy operator collided with an equally impressive Ryuya Okuwaki, from Japan, in a pulsating encounter, which thrilled all in attendance, in Tokyo, on the BOM promotion.

The fight went down to the wire: with Petchdet sealing the ‘WBC global glory’ with a deal-breaking 5th round performance — to close out the contest — and become the new WBC MuayThai 105Lb world champ.

All three ringside judges scored the contest to Thailand’s new WBC MuayThai minimum-weight world champion: 49-48, 48-48, 49-48.

On behalf of WBC MuayThai President, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, and the entire team at the WBC, we would like to congratulate Petchdet and his team on his night of glory.
