On 27 July, in Dublin Ireland, Thailand's Singdam will battle it out with Ireland?s rising MuayThai star, Craig Coakley, for a coveted WBC Diamond championship.

The World Boxing Council MuayThai first created the "Diamond Championship" belt in 2009 as a championship accolade to award the winner of a historic fight between two high-profile fighters.

To date, only three Muay Thai fighters have had the honour of holding the title: two of them are biggest stars in the entire Muay Thai history: Buakaw Banchamek and living legend, Saenchai, and the other being decorated multi-time female WBC world champion, Ruth Ashdown.

The Protagonists:

Irish knockout artist, Craig Coakley, has built quite a formidable reputation as one of Europe?s most feared lightweight and super lightweight, in recent times.

Coakley has racked up a series of stunning KO victories on YOKKAO UK shows, sealing his place as the man to watch for in the promotion. Returning to his homeland to headline YOKKAO 42, Coakley is set for the fight of his life when he squares off against Singdam.

In a distinguished career spanning over 25 years, Singdam has amassed many of the sport?s top accolades, including Lumpinee stadium titles and the prestigious and much sought after Fighter of the Year awards, in the kingdom of Thailand. The one golden accolade missing from Singdam?s collection is a distinguished green & gold WBC belt.

Dublin, precisely the National Basketball Arena, will be the place to be on 27 July as the MuayThai world will witness the crowning of a new WBC Muay Thai Diamond champion.
