The contracts are signed: Hamza Ngoto will make his first defense of his WBC MuayThai super-middleweight world title on Friday the 19th of April at the Riverworks Center, in New York, USA.

The champion, hailing from France won the coveted title back in August of last year, when he came, saw and conquered a heavily favored Thongchai from Bangkok?s Sitsongpeenong gym. That victory came in devastating fashion as he ko?d Thongchai with a vicious elbow to claim WBC glory.

Hamza will now travel stateside to defend his championship strap against the #12 ranked Canadian fighter Anthony Ford, a fighter who has flown under the radar in his lengthy career, having amassed well over 100 fights, and over 70% of those in taking place in Thailand.

The World Boxing Council would like to congratulate all those involved in putting this contest together, and on behalf of WBC MuayThai global Chairman, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi, WBC President, Mauricio Sulaiman, and the entire team WBC team we wish both fighters the best of luck for their upcoming world title fight.
