Pateng crowned WBC super bantam champion

Pateng Kiatponthip scored a stunning third round knee strike KO victory against Japanese star Kunitaka Fujiwara to win the WBC MUAYTHAI super batamweight world title in Osaka, Japan, on 5 July.
It was a tight first two rounds with Pateng showing his skills staying calm at distance from Kunitaka who fought hard to get into close rang.
The flying knee attack happened suddenly within the first minute of the third round, which hurt Kunitaka who did not recover before the referee?s 10 count ended the championship by KO.
Both contenders easily made weight. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr Dusit Manapan, Consul-General from Royal Thai Consulate-General, Osaka.
