WBC President welcomes dignitaries at the launch of the MTMA at the Thailand Embassy in Mexico
WBC MUAYTHAI has been launched in Mexico at the highest level.
At an official reception at the Thailand Embassy in Mexico City some 300 representatives from boxing and Muay Thai were present to hear the WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announce the the formation of the Muay Thai Mexico-Tailandia (MTMA) that will lead the WBC MUAYTHAI in Mexico.
MTMT President Mr Srichai Pangsri paid tribute to the late WBC President Dr Jose Sulaiman who had given his full support for development of Muay Thai in Mexico and around the world.
The WBC President said his father had deeply respected the King of Thailand and had the opportunity and privilege of have private audiences with the Thailand monarch in private audiences, and knew of the King's desire for the WBC to endorse Muay Thai.
The Thai Ambassador for Mexico, Suraska Chusuakonthip thanked the WBC President for pledging his best efforts and support for Muay Thai in Mexico.
The launch of the the MTMT came at a time when Mexico was celebrating 40 years of diplomatic relations with Thailand.
Mr Dej Sriampai, Muay Thai representative for the WBC USA and Latin America, praised the work of WBC MUAYTHAI President Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi for assisting the growth and organization of Muay Thai in Mexico.
