Buakaw lands a head high kick
Buakaw Banchamek stopped his latest challenger Abdoul Karim Toure with an elbow knock down in front of an adoring 4,000 crowd in Chiang Rai.
The popular Thai champion officially won the 70 kg diamond gala event fought to WBC rules and regulations with a TKO decision in the first minute of the third round.
Referee Cherdchaichannon Sricharat stopped the contest after Abdoul was knocked down in successive rounds two and three.
Again Buakaw Banchamek showed his strong and aggressiveness style to dominate his opponent in the early rounds.
The event was to support Thai unity, tourism and the victims of the 5.8 scale earthquake that rocked Chiang Rai last May.
In attendance was Pongsak Wansamue, the governor of Chiangrai, who was suitably impressed with popularity and success of superstar Buakaw and international Muaythai.
On the undercard fights China?s Chen Wei Chao scored a points victory and Superball Lukchaomaesaiwaree won with a first round KO.
