Thailand?s popular ?diamond? fighter Buakaw Banchamek will be the star attraction in Chiang Rai on 15 August.
Buakaw will fight Adoul Toure in a non-ranking contest over five rounds under WBC Muaythai rules and regulations. The gala fixture to be staged at the Ratchapat University is being organized by northern provinces to show Thai unity.
Also known as ?the white Lotus? Buakaw will fight in the K1 Max finals to be held in Pattaya on 4 September. Buakaw is a two-time winner of the K1 Max in Tokyo and the successive victor of Thai Fight tournaments in Bangkok.
Buakaw was the main event attraction at the Monte-Carlo Fighting Masters held under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II in Monte Carlo on 14 June with proceeds donated to the organization "Peace and Sport? for the most disadvantaged young people worldwide.
