AS MUAYTHAI GROWS GLOBALLY

WBC Asia (ABCO) and WBC Muaythai executives, award winning boxers and promoters at the annual awards held at the Asia Hotel in Bangkok
Safety standards had become a main priority for Muaythai - the national sport of Thailand - that continued to gain popularity globablly, stated WBC Muaythai Chairman Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi.
Pol. General Kovid, Vice-President of the World Boxing Council, was speaking at the annual awards day held in Bangkok at the Asia Hotel on April 9 to honor the top boxers and promoters for 2013 representing the WBC Asian Boxing Council (ABCO) and the WBC Muaythai.
Delivering his keynote address Pol. General Kovid said safety standards that included fair match-ups with all the WBC approved safety standards such as weight checks and medical examinations were essential criteria for all scheduled contests.
?An important safety measure is a fair match up, which the WBC and all boxing fans expect.?
Before the awards presentations WBC Muaythai and ABCO Secretary General Patrick Cusick gave a report on the current status of WBC Muaythai worldwide.
