Gary Shaw weekend of boxing and Muay Thai in Las Vegas

Prominent USA boxing promoter Gary Shaw is planning a weekend of top boxing and Muay Thai in one of Las Vegas major casino resort in late March or early April to combine with Thai New Year ?Songkran? celebrations.

Shaw came to Thailand to meet with WBC Vice-President and WBC MUAYTHAI Chairman Pol General Kovid Bhakdibhumi to discuss the planned weekend of live combat in Vegas that will include China Vs USA with the main contest being China?s world champion Xiong Zhao Zhong (for ABCO champion) defending his straweight on a Saturday night with a live telecast to 200 million on China mainland.

WBC MUAYTHAI world lightweight champion, WBC All-Asia boxing champion top ranked star Jomthong Chuwatana will join the Chinese fighters in taking on the top American boxers.

On the Friday night two top Thai boxers will take on the best Americans in a Thailand Vs USA super event that will also several USA national championships with the winners being set for WBC world title shots.

?It will be a weekend of WBC boxing and WBC Muay Thai championships ? one night for world Muay Thai championships following by a night for boxing championships,? said Shaw. ?Boxing and Muay Thai are the two great stand-up fighting sports in the world with Thai boxing having the extra weapons of kicks, knees and elbow strikes.

Shaw has a number of Vegas casinos ready to stage the weekend of championship fights and says the planned event will take Muay Thai to a new level and start a great rivalry between USA and Thailand.

Shaw said there was a dearth of Muay Thai talent in the USA ?just waiting to explode.?
