BATTLE FOR THE BELTS
7 WBC WORLD MUAYTHAI TITLES

5 Jun 2012

Seven Muay Thai World Championships for Seven WBC Green Belts will take place in an historic event televised live across Thailand on Channel 9 and internationally by IMG on Saturday 9 June.

Champions and contenders will fight for the Battle For the Belts at the Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani from 3pm to 6pm.

Four of the top Thai Muay Thai elite fighters will defend "Fortress Thailand" against top international challengers.

The Thai arsenal of Muay Thai talent from the main Bangkok professional stadiums to battle for Thailand pride in the championship ring include Jomthong Chuwattana, Sakkedao Petchapayatai, Kem Sitsongpeenong and Big Ben Ch. Praram 6.

Event organizer and promoter BEC Tero has signed the top Thais against the best international Muay Thai talent to fight in the kingdom for seven WBC World Championships that will be a major sports highlight of 2012.

The Thai champions will be fighting at their best weights for four of seven WBC world titles.

Sakeddao Petchapayatai should have too much class for French lightweight star Sofiane Derdega and Rajadamnern's lightweight super star Jomthong Chuwatta is likely to be too strong and talented for Turkey's champion Yetkin Ozkul.

Kem Sitsongpeenong is expected to win against Alejandro Asuma Osa (Spain).

Asuma arrived early in Thailand to prepare for his world title defence and said he would be looking to KO Kem if the opportunity presented.

Thai welterweight champion Big Ben Praram 6 is in for a tough battle with Frenchman Fabio Pinca who's looking to win his second WBC world title after finishing runner-up in this year's Thai Fight tournament.
