WBC MUAYTHAI HAS TWO DAY
SESSIONS AT VEGAS CONVENTION

Country representatives, promoters and executives of the WBC MUAYTHAI gather for the WBC convention 49th anniversary held in Las Vegas

One of the biggest boxing conventions has been held in Las Vegas, USA that gave the opportunity for the WBC MUAYTHAI, as a division of the World Boxing Council, to hold meetings over two consecutive days for delegates to discuss national, international and world championships along with clarifications of the full rules and regulations of Muay Thai.

Under the umbrella of the World Boxing Council the WBC MUAYTHAI has grown in size and status over the past year, and further expansion is expected, as the WBC MUAYTHAI brand continues to grow with worldwide exposure and popularity in 2012.

WBC Vice President and WBC MUAYTHAI CHAIRMAN Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi invited the WBC President Dr Jose Sulaiman and former great welterweight champion Oscar De La Hoya to visit Thailand in February 2012 to assist with the flood relief program.

Dr Jose Sulaiman told over 1000 delegates and guests attending the 49th WBC Convention that boxing would be invigorated by a new generation of young boxers.

Add excitement to world class contests the WBC would soon begin the WBC World Cup - a premier event featuring top 40 fighters from the 10 federations that represented 164 countries worldwide.

Dr Sulaiman said the WBC would continue to set the highest standards for championships and fairness in all weight divisions.

Further reforms and improvements for championship events would include:

* An instant reply would be used to examine contentious decisions by the referee who, at times, might not have been able to get a clear vision of the fighters' contests.

* The WBC medical committee would examine the masking of illegal drugs used to enhance performance and to unnaturally reduce or increase body weight and muscles size.
