Joe Schilling takes USA WBC Super Middleweight Title

It took just 2.13 minutes for the new USA Muaythai sensation Joe Schilling to capture the national Super Middleweight interim title against Chase Green by TKO.

The event at the Commerce Hotel & Casino in Los Angeles, California, gave notice to the world that Schilling has now entered the big arena for WBC glory and his growing band of supporters say that he's not far away from challenging Britain's Steve Wakeling for the world title.

Nelson Hamilton, one of the judges for the California State Athletic Commision, summed up Schilling's total domination of Green: "Joe Schilling fights with rage"

Schilling wasted no time in putting his mark on the national WBC belt. After touching gloves he immediately delivered a spinning back kick followed by hard low roundhouse kicks. Just 50 seconds into the contest Schilling caught a Green miss-kick and then struck his opponent to the top of the head with a cuffing looping overhead right hand. Green went to the canvass for the first time, and went done again when Schilling delivered a major front kick to the upper torso and chin.

The end came quickly after Schilling charged forward and hit Green with a downward left hand punch that appeared to have an elbow behind it. Another attack by Green saw the referee stop the contest with a justified TKO decision.

Now that Schilling has captured the interim WBC Super Middleweight title he will be looking at unifying the national championship when he takes on the previously injured but returning-to-the-ring champion Jared Lara within 6 months - and probably sooner.
