McKinnon defends WBC Super Cruiserweight title

Australia's Muaythai superstar Steve McKinnon is seeking medical advice after suffering breathing problems during his successful defense of his WBC Super Cruiserweight world title against French challenger Stephane Susperregui on Hainan Island 19 December.

McKinnon dominated his opponent in the first round but faded in the second rond to win the title contest on points by a narrow margin.

McKinnon's next world title defence will be subject to medical clearance and there is speculation of his next fight being against Nathan Corbett, his rival from Queensland.

On the same WBC championship card on Hainan Island the Super Heavyweight International Championship was won easily by Steve Banks (USA) against Eduardo Maiorino (Brazil).
