2 Feb 2011

Ayana a proud winner

Ayano Ohishi is the first Japanese female to win a Muaythai featherweight championship fought under WBC Rules and Regulations.

Ohishi beat Azuma of y-park, Bonita Boxeo, in a split decision of 2-1 (47 - 48, 48 - 47, 49 - 47).

The contest was held on 23 January at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

Ayano of Ohishi Dojo, J-Girls, in the first round answered Ohishi's early front kick and left and right low kicks with back spin kicks and fast punches, elbow strike exchanges. That set the pattern for five rounds, which resulted in a spirited and exciting contest with both fighters using all of their Muaythai weapons to show that females from Japan are ready and willing to compete on the world stage.
