WBC world champion Fabio Pinca wins first Thai Fight title

WBC World Lightweight champion Fabio Pinca won the Thai Fight title in Thailand?s northeast central Korat City on 8 December.

Pinca won the 67kg Thai Fight Division to become the first Thai Fight Champion in the final contest again Youssef Boughanem from Belgium who narrowly beat the WBC Japan National Champion Soishiro Miyakoshi in the semi-final contest.

In the first of three final contests Thailand favorite Petchmonkong Petchfocus was ahead for most of contest but dropped his guard in the final round allowing Pinca to win with a succession of left hooks to the Thai?s body and jaw knocking him down twice in the last minute.

Miyakoshi and Boughanem went all out in a thrilling final with Boughanem winning the judges verdict for the final spot in Thai Fight tournament.

On the same King's birthday holiday weekend the first ever WBC world champion Yodsaenklai Fairtex celebrated his six year reign as the outstanding Muaythai professional fighter by outclassing a selection of foreign Muaythai opponents in the annual King's Cup Muaythai tournament event.
