Lidon wins stunning world title against Lamsongkram

10 Dec 2009

Thai Middleweight world champion Lamsongkram has lost his WBC MUATHAI world title (72.5kg) to French contender Yohan Lidon.

The championship began sensationally in the first round when Lamsongkram staggered Lidon with a series of elbow blows. But Lidon showed great courage and aggression and was able to land a hard left hook punch to deck the Thai champion for the full count and recorded a first round KO victory.

On the same card Danthai lost to Fabio Pinca for the interim vacant world in the Super Lightweight division (63.5kg). Pinca aggressively took on Danthai from the opening using elbow and punch weapons. The contest was stopped in the 4th round when Pinca was declared the winner on TKO after Danthai was suffered a cut near to his eye.

Jomthong had little trouble defending his WBC Featherweight World 126 pounds (57.1kg) world title with a unanimous points win over Albert Chey.

All three WBC MUAYTHAI world titles were held at the Palais des Sports de Lyon Gerland in France this Saturday (25 November)
