SAIDI WINS DENMARK NATIONAL TITLE

23 Feb 2009

Mohammed El Mir and Ayoub Saidi faced each other in the ring for the second time on Saturday 14 February. This time not only was honour and glory on the line, but also a WBC MUAYTHAI national title.
The fight was the standard 5 x 3 minutes rounds, and both fighters gave their all while the battle raged. High technical skills from both fighters entertained the cheering crowd, and the contest was clearly a superb meeting between two of Denmark's finest Muaythai practitioners.

The fight was competitive from the opening round giving El-Mir, with a strong Muaythai background, an edge in the clinching while Ayoub Saidi's kickboxing background was able to deliver some beautiful scoring kicks. As the fight progressed it was clear that El-Mir - despite fighting bravely - was behind on points as Saidi's hard low kicks kept finding their mark.
At the end a unanimous panel of judges declared Ayoub Saidi winner of the of the WBC national title.
